Released in 2004 by LucasArts and developed by Pandemic Studios, Star Wars Battlefront is a classic third-person shooter set in the Star Wars universe. You are a soldier fighting for one of the sides of the ongoing Star Wars conflict. Fancy a quick skirmish or a long-lasting campaign taking place on all key planets and star systems in the galaxy? Then gear up and let’s go!

The Gameplay

The single-player campaign takes place during the events spanning all five movies, excluding Revenge of the Sith, which wasn’t released at the time. With 4 factions from the original and prequel trilogy available – Galactic Republic, Confederacy of Independent Systems, Galactic Empire and Rebel Alliance – you choose from 5 soldier classes and have a blast accomplishing mission objectives during the most-renown Star Wars battles ever – battle of Hoth, Endor, Grassy Plains or Kashyyyk, to name but a few. Each faction has a hero character – Mace Windu, Count Dooku, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader - which fights arm-in-arm with you and helps you achieve your goals.

You may switch perspectives, turning the game into a regular FPS. There are plenty of means to get by during battles - you have over 25 air and land vehicles at your disposal like AT-STs, X-Wings and hoverbikes, as well as other equipment, e.g. turrets. Additionally, the game offers two other modes of play: Galactic Conquest and Instant Action, in which you get to subdue all galaxy planet by planet, and jump into a quick battle, respectively. What’s more, a multiplayer up for 32 players is now available on the Steam PC version of the game.
