Gameplay

Foxhole stands out among other war games. Sure, you can choose one of two factions and compete against other players to win a campaign. But the game doesn’t focus strictly on combat. That’s just one of the gameplay elements. The game emphasizes the need for resources to wage war in the first place and thus it introduces a player-driven economy, where it’s up to players to gather and process resources. All kinds of structures, vehicles, tools, and weapons must come from somewhere. You can’t drive a tank without fuel just as you can’t shoot without ammunition.

Combat is done on multiple levels, from brave assaults, and trench warfare to mobilized tank attacks and shelling from field artillery. And it only works when it’s coordinated and well planned. But fighting head-on is not the only way to victory. Control over the map and reconnaissance offers a huge advantage. Striking the enemy’s supply lines will be more devastating than winning even several skirmishes. Communication with your fellow soldiers is a key to victory and one smart move can tip the scales and win the entire long campaign.

Weather can be a useful tool or a huge obstacle. Dynamic weather system simulates snow and rainstorms that have a huge impact on the battlefield.
