Metal Slug Tactics is a tactical RPG game with strategic elements under development of Leikir Studio, with the publisher being DotEmu. The release date is still TBA (to be announced) in 2021. This new entry in the metal slug universe will bring back the iconic explosive missions of the series with its sights set on a fresh experience. Metal Slug Tactics game realises what makes Metal Slug so unique and brings it into the tactical genre!

Gameplay

A new Metal Slug game gives the player the opportunity to revel in the classic universe of the Metal Slug. This video game brings the experience to another level with its mechanics and roguelike elements. The resource bar called 'Adrenaline' unlocks powerful special attacks, which impact the game when used tactfully. Moreover, a precious war experience gained after every battle allows for bonus perks and weapons to be a great addition to the arsenal of the player team's firepower.

The player can choose between various iconic brothers-in-arms to create a dream team tasked with stopping the war. Then begin attacks on the targets with the so-called 'sync mechanic' to deal tons of damage. Should the dream team struggle with the mission, the player can call available reinforcements to settle a score. The best advice may be that surrender is never an option. Many challenges are ahead, but with proper tactics, none of them are impossible to overcome.

The music created by Tee Lopes accompanying the player's efforts is another homage to the classic series and a way to memorialize the renowned universe.

Story

This new entry to the franchise of metal slug, full of memorable villains, focuses on the evil Donald Morden. After staying hidden for years in a country out of reach for the World Government, he patiently organized his army and orchestrated a coup the grâce. To stop Morden before it is too late and prevent further war escalation, the Peregrine Falcons will have their hands full.
