In The Deep Layers, you are a Living Spark surviving in fragile wooden vessels. Ride a cursed elevator into shifting ruins with your crew, smash furniture for loot, and escape before everyone breaks.

Gameplay

This is a cooperative extraction game where you explore procedurally generated dungeons with up to three other players. Core mechanics include smashing the environment for resources, feeding items into a Grinder for currency, and battling unpredictable corrupted creatures. When your current wooden vessel is destroyed, you become a Spark and must quickly find a new host body to possess, each with unique abilities. Success requires teamwork to manage resources, navigate hazards, and extract your loot before a total party wipe.

Story

You and your crew are drawn to a mysterious, decaying underground complex known as the Deep Layers. A strange force called the Rot warps everything it touches, distorting bodies and minds the deeper you descend. Your goal is to venture into these cursed ruins, uncover their secrets, rescue other trapped survivors, and haul back materials to rebuild a safe outpost, all while combating the spreading corruption.
