Plot

Wrong Number is a continuation of the story that began in Hotline Miami, and to represent this, the atmosphere of the game has become even more sorrowful, while there is no shortage of dark comedy, for which the game has acquired so many enthusiastic fans. The team is conducting secret operations against Soviet forces in Hawaii in 1985, when the US and the Soviet Union are at war. Will the mission succeed? Or perhaps everyone will die, and there is nothing you can do about it? You have complete control over everything.

The tale is told from the perspectives of several characters and deals with, among other things, the making of a film based on the original's story, imitators continuing Jacket's work while he is in prison, and a journalist investigating the entire issue. Throughout the campaign, we get the ability to control thirteen unique characters.

Gameplay

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is separated into chapters, each of which is further broken into stages, and plays identically to its predecessor, Hotline Miami. Each chapter is played from a top-down perspective, and the purpose of the majority of them is to beat each adversary within. Each stage has a unique design and often includes wide open areas where attackers can approach you in a variety of ways.
