Superhot: Mind Control Delete

SUPERHOT MIND CONTROL DELETE is a large standalone single-player DLC for the cult SUPERHOT game from 2016 and extended version of it - SUPERHOT 2 which was released for VR. Published in 2020 and created by the Polish studio SUPERHOT Team, which is known for giving away the title for free before its premiere to the owners of the first SUPERHOT game.

Gameplay

As in SUPERHOT from 2016, the game is simply about eliminating opponents. SUPERHOT MIND CONTROL DELETE is also a first-person shooter game and all the fun is focused on shooting enemies while traversing the rooms. The game, however, is an unusual shooter because time flies only when the player is moving.

As a continuation of the story, the gameplay is about eliminating opponents by shooting at them, blowing them up and slashing your way to the core, and getting closer to it guarantees you learning better skills, getting more weapons and gathering a portion of the information. Of course, the increase in the player's strength is also the growth in the strength of the enemies. One-shot can end a player's life, which is why the game is primarily about the ability to estimate the trajectory of bullets and efficiently avoiding them during combat.

Graphically, the game is quite practical, because the locations present themselves as empty spaces, and the enemies are red outlines of characters, but at the same time, it is a highly aesthetic solution. This form of presentation of the gameplay allows the player to focus on just being constantly attacked by the hordes of enemies and drawing pure pleasure from killing without being distracted by additional elements of "decor".

This expansion guarantees even more gameplay and extensive content than in the previous parts. New skills, fighting techniques, stronger enemies and characters that you can control and a much more extensive arsenal of weapons are waiting for you.

Reception

SUPERHOT from 2016 received positive reviews for its innovation and was also called one of the best indie games of the previous decade. The SUPERHOT MIND CONTROL DELETE game, thanks to the slow-mo bits of gameplay similar to the scenes known from the "Matrix", stands out among shooter games and provokes a lot of sentiments, which is reflected in highly positive comments on Steam.
