Worms Clan Wars is a turn-based tactical game developed and published by Team17. As in the previous installments of the Worms series, the player's task is to tear down the opposition using various conventional and unconventional weapons. Clan Wars introduces a new online mechanic – the players can now form the titular clans and take on online missions together. Worms Clan Wars was met with a very positive reception from the critics, who praised the game's graphics and gameplay.

WCW stays true to the series gameplay turn-based strategy mechanics. The main task of the game is still wiping out the opponent's team, using a variety of more or less serious weapons. The worms represent one of four classes: Soldier, Scout, Scientist, and Heavy. Each of the classes has its unique features and uses in battle. The game features five areas in which the players use as their battlegrounds, each based on a different historical period: Prehistoric, Viking, Inca, Feudal Japan, and the Industrial Revolution.

The game features several modes, including the story campaign, online multiplayer, and Worm Ops, a mission mode in which the players compete to score higher on the leaderboard.

In WCW, the players can form clans and communicate with each other through WormsNET – a dedicated lobby and chat platform.

Grab your clan and follow her on an adventure through history, seeking out the best artifacts to save for the future generations, of course! Visit the prehistoric landscapes, ancient Inca ruins, Viking villages, and more on the quest for riches and fame.

Reception

Worms Clan Wars was met with a positive critical reception. The reviews noted the game's graphics and gameplay as some of the best in the series' history. The Clan feature was considered a nice addition to the excellent multiplayer, and the variety of single-player content, including the Worm Ops missions, made the game worthy continuation of the Worms series' traditions.
