Gameplay

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter combines exploration, party building, character progression, and tactical RPG combat. Battles offer multiple ways to approach enemies, from faster encounters using Quick Battle mechanics to more strategic situations where positioning, character abilities, Crafts, S-Crafts, and Arts become important.

The Brave Rush system expands the available combat options by allowing two characters to join forces for powerful attacks. Party development is further shaped by Tactical Orbments. By placing Quartz into each character's available slots, players can strengthen specific attributes and gain access to different Orbal Arts. Upgraded seven-slot Orbments provide even more room to experiment with character builds.

Outside combat, players can explore Liberl, complete additional activities, cook recipes with gathered ingredients, fish at designated locations, play minigames such as poker, and spend time with a growing cast of companions.

Story

Following the coup d'état that shook the Kingdom of Liberl, Estelle Bright and Joshua have become senior bracers. Their path suddenly changes when Joshua reveals the truth about his past and disappears, leaving Estelle determined to find him. Her search soon becomes tied to Ouroboros, a mysterious organization whose plans threaten to plunge Liberl into an unprecedented crisis. Estelle and her allies must investigate its schemes while searching for answers about Joshua's disappearance.
