What's New in AutoCAD MEP 2024 Toolset

Quality improvements

• Occasional Crash Fixes: Occasional program crash or freeze in following workflows have been resolved:
• Working in Project Navigator
• Opening certain drawings
• Switching to Shaded (Fast) visual style
• Selecting Architecture or MEP objects in Shaded (Fast) visual style

Schedule Table: Schedule table now updates correctly for objects with classifications.

IFC Import or Export

• IFC file no longer increases in size after an IFC export.
• IFC no longer imports empty drawing in certain situations.

Migration: Custom path in Support File Search can now be migrated successfully from older releases.

Content Browser: Unwanted temporary PNG files are now deleted automatically after exiting a category in the Content Browser.

Project Navigator: Background publishing now plots the updated changes in Project Properties.

Visual Style

• Cable tray that's placed at a lower elevation from a MV part now displays correctly in 3D visual style.
• Flange of piping now displays correctly in Shaded (Fast) visual style.

Walls: The wall inside a block definition no longer shows errors after performing a BEDIT.

Additional enhancements

PDFSHX System Variable: Set PDFSHX to 2 to store text objects that use SHX fonts as hidden text when the drawing is exported to a PDF. This makes the text searchable and selectable in the PDF.

Sheet Set Manager Improvements (Web):

• Automatic sheet set lock management
• Multiple sheet selection for publishing
• Ability to publish to a multi-sheet PDF or individual PDF for each sheet
• Control over the PDF name and location
• Option to overwrite existing files during publish and eTransmit
• Control over the eTransmit file name and location
• Control over the location for new sheets
• Open Sheet Set button added to the palette

3D Graphics:

• Support for Map 3D and Civil 3D
• Large coordinate system support
• Selection (Fence, Lasso, Polygon)
• Paper space support
• Point cloud support
• Line weights
• Dimming of Xrefs and locked layers
• General stability, visual fidelity, and performance improvements

2D Graphics:

• Pan performance is improved for drawings with raster images or wipeouts
• Display performance is improved for trace background, Markup Import and Markup Assist, and ViewCube
• Layout switching performance improvement
