Crimson Desert is an open-world single-player action RPG developed and published by Pearl Abyss, primarily known for Black Desert Online. Powered by the next-generation BlackSpace Engine, the game delivers breathtaking visuals, rich environmental details, and seamless animations.

The gameplay masterfully fuses elements from some of gaming's most iconic franchises: it marries the rich and living open world of The Witcher 3 with the tactical, high-stakes boss combat of Dragon's Dogma 2 and freedom of exploration from Assassin's Creed. Available March 19, 2026, on PC (Steam & Epic), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and macOS, it marks a bold departure from the studio's MMO roots toward a cinematic, single-player epic experience.

The World

Pywel is a continent divided into five distinct ecological and political regions: Hernand, Pailune, Demeniss, Delesyia, and Crimson Desert. This land is currently gripped by a power vacuum following the mysterious coma of the King of Demeniss, leaving warring factions to struggle for dominance.

The world truly lives, with NPCs following complex daily routines and factions dynamically contesting key territories.

The Hero & His crew

Walk the path of Kliff Macduff, the fallen warlord of the Greymane clan. After a brutal betrayal by Myurdin and his Black Bears, Kliff is left with nothing but a thirst for justice. His mission is to reunite the scattered Greymanes and reclaim his honor. But as you carve through the chaos of Pywel, a far greater, world-ending threat begins to stir within the mysterious Abyss realm.

As the story unfolds, you will unlock two additional playable characters:
Damiane, an agile duelist who combines a pistol and rapier, and Oongka, a brutally powerful melee brawler.

Exploration

Pywel is yours to explore from the moment you begin. With no level gates, you are free to traverse diverse biomes – from the sun-scorched deserts to the frozen northern wastelands and bustling cities. Climb, glide, and plunge into the mysterious Abyss realm to uncover secrets and discover powerful abilities.

Accept quests ranging from fortress sieges to convoy escorts, offering a variety that rivals the best RPGs on the market.

Base & Management

Rebuild the Greymane Camp in Hernand and transform it into a customizable, fortified stronghold. Farm, raise animals, and cook meals that grant combat buffs. Craft and upgrade weapons with elemental enhancements.

Manage your companions and send them on automated missions to gather resources, conquer territories, and reduce the influence of rival factions.
