Gameplay

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 combines fast first-person shooting with more grounded movement and precise weapon control. Its Ballistic Authority system connects aiming, recoil, bullet trajectory, weapon motion, sound and visibility to make every firefight feel consistent and responsive. Bloom has been removed, while weapon handling reacts more naturally to movement, stance and the surrounding environment.

Expanded mantling, climbing, hanging and jumping options give players additional ways to navigate maps, reach elevated positions and flank opponents. Multiplayer includes traditional close-quarters battles, dedicated Gunfight arenas and larger maps where infantry and vehicles fight across open combat zones.

Players can customize complete combat setups through the unified Create-a-Class system. Gunsmith offers detailed weapon modification, while the Gunny assistant can suggest practical builds for short-, medium- or long-range engagements. Fully upgraded weapons can also unlock Apex Attachments that significantly alter their handling, tactical role or firing behaviour.

DMZ provides a different kind of challenge. Players enter a hostile extraction zone alone or with a squad, complete objectives, recover valuable technology and decide when to escape. Changing weather, moving enemy forces and dynamic military operations make every deployment unpredictable.

Story

War breaks out on the Korean Peninsula when North Korea launches a full-scale invasion. Players take control of Private Park, a young South Korean soldier whose routine patrol turns into a desperate battle through collapsing cities, fortified trenches and major counteroffensives.

Far from the front line, Captain Price has become an outlaw operating outside the system he once served. His search for revenge leads him toward a powerful weapon capable of changing the global balance of power. As Price’s covert mission becomes connected to the invasion, local warfare begins developing into an international catastrophe.

The campaign includes trench warfare in Korea, close-quarters operations in New York, high-speed pursuits through Paris, night raids in Mumbai and large-scale assaults against occupied cities. Its missions combine direct combat, covert operations, combined-arms warfare and cinematic action sequences.
