Crysis Trilogy

Crysis Trilogy is a bundle containing every installment from the series of first-person shooter games developed by Crytek and published by Electronic Arts, as well as their expansion packs and DLCs. The first game in the series introduces the player to the world of the game, in which an alien race of Ceph has invaded Earth. The player, a member of an elite Raptor Team, takes on the alien invaders using a nanosuit, enhancing their abilities exponentially. The following installments – Crysis Warhead, Crysis 2 and 3 and The Lost Island DLC – continue the story of Earth's resistance against the Ceph, introducing new characters, new weapons and nanosuit abilities and more. The series received a positive reception from the critics, who praised the action-packed gameplay and stunning graphics.

The core gameplay mechanics of the Crysis series focus heavily on action, using various weapons and nanosuit abilities. The firearms the player can use in the game are slightly futurized versions of contemporary pistols, rifles, shotguns, etc. The weapons can be equipped with various enhancements, such as scopes.

Crysis series' main gameplay features are the unique abilities of the nanosuit the player character is wearing. The suit powers can be used at any time during the gameplay to gain an advantage over the enemy forces. Each game introduced changes to the suit's abilities, which include enhanced armor, increased melee strength, super speed, and cloaking, which hides the player from the enemy's eyes.

An epic story of alien invasion

The plot of Crysis Trilogy is set in a not too distant future, where Earth has fallen under the control of alien invaders known as the Ceph. In the original Crysis, the player character is a member of an elite US special forces' Raptor Team, sent to investigate illegal North Korean activity on a Pacific island. There, the player discovers and engages the invading aliens. The following installments build on the story, presenting the Earth's resistance against the Ceph.

Throughout the series, the player controls various characters, including Nomad, Psycho, and Prophet – members of the Raptor Team – as well as Alcatraz, a U.S. Marine saved from death by Prophet. All the characters use nanosuits, which significantly increase their combat skills.

Reception

Crysis series received an overwhelmingly positive reception from players and critics alike. The first installment was especially praised for its at-the-time unparalleled graphics, rendering the environments with stunning detail. The game's good-looks came at the cost of high system requirements, which quickly coined a joke among the players who boasted about the performance of their setups: "But can it run Crysis?" The games were also praised for their gameplay mechanics, including the use of nanosuit skills.

The series was a recipient of various industry awards, including GameSpot's Best Shooter of 2007 for Crysis.
