Climbing from Cumberland, Maryland, to Sand Patch, Pennsylvania, this historic line tests the limits of both locomotives and engineers. CSX continues to operate heavy freight traffic here, moving coal, grain, oil, and intermodal cargo with modern and classic diesel power.
