ArcheAge: Unchained

ArcheAge Unchained is an MMORPG game in which action is being played out in a fantasy world. The game was developed by the Korean studio, XLGAMES and it is inspired by world-famous productions like World of Warcraft, Lineage II, or Ultima Online. In the game, players choose from a number of playable classes and start their adventure, traveling across a vast and diverse fantasy world. AA: Unchained is created with an advanced graphic engine, CryEngine 3. Because of that, the world of the game is stunningly beautiful and detailed.

Storyline

The story in ArcheAge is based on typical for this genre conflict between quarreled factions. A long time ago, the world was ruled peacefully by four races. For unknown reasons, the races disagreed with each other and they have divided into two separate camps. The story begins approximately two thousand years after that quarrel. One of the main goals of the players is to find out what happened in the past and put an end to the crippling war.

Gameplay

The game is a typical example of the MMORPG genre. The gameplay starts from creating a character and selecting one of (currently available) the six major races, therefore the side of the conflict. The races available in the game are: Nuians, Elves, Firran, Harani, Dwarves, Warborn. Besides the two main, conflicted factions, players can walk a path of a lawless Pirate. Even though it has some advantages, if they decide to join that faction, they will be no longer allowed to enter the cities. The game features typical for the genre activities like a farming, trading, advanced system of crafting etc. One of the unique features of ArcheAge is the class system. The game gives players the opportunity to create their own, unique class. There are 12 major skill sets, and each of the characters can learn 3 of them. That extremely complex system allows creating 220 combinations. It is worth to mention that the selection of the abilities can be changed with adequate in-game payment.

The world created by XLGAMES is constantly changing. The land looks different depending on the season and dynamic weather. Small trees can grow with the time and give a start to a lush forest. Even players themselves can significantly influence the world around them as the game allows us to build houses, villages, and even whole cities. Since the world in ArcheAge is in lasting war, Player vs. Player encounters are one of the most important gameplay elements. As soon as the player reaches level 30, he enters the PvP zones in which he can fight with others.
