For years, the life simulation genre has been dominated by The Sims series, beloved by players worldwide for over two decades. However, this year has brought a major revolution to the genre! On March 28, 2025, a game was released in Early Access that leaves Maxis' flagship product far behind!

The game, titled inZOI, developed by the South Korean studio Krafton, has been sparking players' imaginations ever since its initial announcement. Now, what was once just a dream in other life simulators has finally become a reality!

Storyline

As in other life sim games, the storyline in inZOI is almost entirely up to us. We control our virtual avatars (or characters we create as we see fit), and we decide what they do and how they spend their time. By playing, we shape the story and narrative of the game.

Gameplay

The game begins with creating a character using an incredibly advanced character creator. We can choose gender, age, a fully customizable appearance, as well as personality traits and preferences. We also have complete freedom in dressing our character exactly how we want. After that, we select a city for our character to live in — there are multiple cities to choose from, all based on real-world locations across the globe.

The next step is choosing a house or flat, which can also be freely customized. Players have access to a vast catalogue of furniture, appliances, and decorative items. We can even personalize walls and floors to our liking using an AI-powered system that transforms simple prompts into diverse textures and patterns.

Of course, just like in the iconic The Sims, our goal is to manage our character's needs. Throughout the game, we can also shape their career path and relationships with NPCs — we can make friends, start romantic relationships, and even engage in rivalries or fights. Building a family is also an option.

Our character can either be a homebody, spending most of their time decorating and improving their living space, or an active member of the community, taking advantage of everything the city has to offer — shops, gyms, parks, and more.

Fun Facts

Last year, Krafton released the inZOI character creator as a free demo for players. Although the demo was available for a very limited time, it quickly gained massive popularity on Steam. Players were absolutely stunned by the customization options and realism the game offered.
