Pathfinder Kingmaker Definitive Edition is a role-playing game developed by Owlcat Games and published by Deep Silver. The game is based on a tabletop RPG series Pathfinder, created by Paizo Publishing. In Pathfinder: Kingmaker, the player takes on the mantle of a young adventurer, who becomes a ruler of a region called the Stolen Lands.

The gameplay features, inspired by such classics like Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate, focus on the player's actions in building their kingdom and how they influence their reputation as the ruler. The Definitive Edition includes six DLCs released for the game, which expand the adventure with new quests and challenges. Pathfinder: Kingmaker received solid reviews from the critics, who praised the game's story and exploration features, among others.

Based on the tabletop RPG and inspired by classic genre titles, Pathfinder: Kingmaker offers the player an engaging gameplay experience. The main focus of the game is the exploration of the world and forming the player's realm by appointing advisors, solving problems within the kingdom, and making strategic decisions in various situations. The player's choices will influence the story as their progress through the game, as well as their alignment with good or evil, lawfulness or chaos, or neutrality.

The tale of a future king

As a young adventurer, you are invited to the house of Jamandi Aldori, the ruler of Restov, who offers regency over the region known as the Stolen Lands to the one who defeats the Stag Lord, a bandit leader who terrorizes the region. Upon their victory, they are rewarded with the title and ownership of the land claimed by the Stag Lord. Thus begins the player's journey to revitalize the land left in ruins by its previous occupant and facing new problems that will test their resolve and leadership skills.  

Definitive Edition content

The Definitive Edition of Pathfinder: Kingmaker includes six DLC packs, which unlock new gameplay mechanics and story campaigns. The Season Pass gives the player access to all the DLCs released for the game. Beneath The Stolen Lands opens a new dungeon area of Golarion, filled with danger and treasures. Arcane Unleashed gives the player a chance to dabble in the dark arts. Varnhold's Lot pits the ruler of Shrike Hill against the new power rising in the Stolen Lands. Bloody Mess adds a new level of brutality to the gameplay. The Wildcards unlocks the new playable race of Tieflings and the new character class of Kineticists. 

Reception

Pathfinder: Kingmaker received a solid reception from the critics. The reviewers praised the game's scale, how the player could influence the fate of their kingdom through different choices, as well as gameplay mechanics inspired by classic RPGs.
