PAYDAY 2: GOTY Edition

PAYDAY 2 is a second entry in the series of team-based, objective-focused, first-person shooters. It puts putting the players in the shoes of professional thieves and robbers taking up contracts from people and organisations with a score to settle. So select your mission in CRIMENET, assemble the crew of up to four people and make your way to a big score. But beware: law enforcement doesn't sleep and a perfect plan can fall apart in a dozen random mishaps!

Key features:

PAYDAY 2 allows the players to relive the greatest moments from Ocean's Eleven or Reservoir Dogs, depending on how thorough your are about planning and executing your spectacular heists. Whether you go silently and get away before anyone notifies authorities, or you go out in a hail of bullets, struggling to keep as much of your loot as possible, PAYDAY 2 supports your style.

Progression in PAYDAY 2 allows you to pick and choose your skills as you please, selecting abilities from five different classes:

• be the Mastermind to play mind games with NPCs to make them assist the crew. And when the jig is up heal your accomplices with the Doctor Bag


• become the Enforcer, the strongarm of the crew, living for the firefights and hauling heavy equipment and bags. Resupply your crew from the Ammo bag, when the hail of bullets is the way


• learn to be a Technician, merging the best aspects of a demolition man and a marksman


• become the Ghost, disable security systems and enjoy greater mobility as you sneak across the levels


• prepare to be a Fugitive, and live the creed of "every man for himself" as you focus on surviving over supporting other. Survive the gut shots and focus on quick combat efficiency

Every skill matters, opening up additional opportunities to become the best robber in history. So mix and match the skills from the five classes and find your own perfect combinations of abilities to let you score big. Enhance your criminal persona and create your own mask from several components, from color to material, and earn new options as you complete jobs. Be creative and make sure the witnesses only remember your mask rather than your face. Polish and upgrade your weapons, from improved stocks to silencers and those sweet walnut grips and other cosmetic upgrades, your weapon can be your trademark like your mask and skillset.

Plan your heist perfectly and deal with complications as soon as they arrive. Disable the alarms, impersonate the guards and silence the witnesses and you will be a shadow, in a true Ocean's Eleven fashion. Or play things loosely and you will find yourself locked in a war of attrition with steadily improving units of law enforcement as both sides try to thin the other out. So prepare for the assault in any way available, survive until the getaway car arrives, grab as much loot as you can on your way out, and get away before all is lost.

Team up with your friends or random people, sharing the excitement of performing a perfect job. Pick a contract from Crime.net, an in-game darknet website searching for specialists such as yourselves, pick your gear and iron out the details, after all, what could go wrong?

No single locations offers the same challenge. PAYDAY 2 randomly generates loot and guard placement even on the maps your already visited, down to random events taking place during the job. So case your mark cautiously, because when you put the masks on it there will only be time to do your part of the plan as well as you can. Civilians may witness you at an inopportune moment, the guard manages to alert others or the drill jams and has to be fixed. A million things may go wrong, making it all the more satisfying to get away clean.

Since release, Overkill Software has released over a hundred updates and intends to keep releasing them until 2017 at least. Moreover, the developer co-operated with other studios and companies, for instance letting you play Hotline Miami themed heists or get John Wick on your team. The amount of content is big enough to keep you occupied.
