Pillars of Eternity

Pillars of Eternity is a role-playing video game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Paradox Interactive. The Definitive Edition includes all of the previously released downloadable content for the base game, as well as numerous improvements and updates which are main differences.

Plot

PoE takes place in the world of Eora, where the player creates their own character and sets out on a quest to investigate a supernatural event known as the "Hollowborn Crisis". As the game progresses, the player discovers the dark secrets of the world and their own past, leading to a climactic battle against an ancient and powerful entity.

Gameplay

One of the key gameplay elements of Pillars of Eternity Definitive Edition is its real-time with pause combat system. This allows one to stop the game at any time during combat to issue commands to the characters, make strategic decisions and position them for maximum effect. The player can also slow down the game's pace, giving them more time to react.

The choices made during conversations can have significant impacts on the story's outcome, as well as the player's reputation with different factions and characters. Quests have multiple outcomes, depending on the solutions the player finds, providing a high degree of replayability.

Pillars of Eternity provides a complex character creation system, allowing players to customize their characters' attributes, skills, and abilities. One can choose from a range of classes, such as fighter, rogue, wizard, and priest, each with its own unique skills and abilities. There is also a possibility to decide between various races, including humans, elves, dwarves, and more.
