Dredge is an indie role-playing game developed by Black Salt Games and released by Team17 in 2023. Fishing may seem relaxing, but not in this video game. Embark on a sea voyage like no other, discover the sinister mysteries of a misty archipelago, and lose yourself in Lovecraftian suspense full of dreadful secrets of the most challenging job.

Story

Once upon a time, a young fisherman crashed his fishing boat on one of The Marrows archipelago islands. But returning home will be more complicated than he initially thought. The man receives a new ship from the mayor and agrees to pay for it with hard work on the surrounding waters. At this point, he doesn't know yet what awaits him in the depths of the dark bay.

Gameplay

The Dredge video game is a horror RPG in which you will explore the open world of The Marrows archipelago. Each location represents a different biome and new secrets to discover. It's your job to fish and complete quests from locals who may or may not reveal bits of a bizarre plot. Earn money for fetched fish and priceless artifacts, and you'll soon be able to upgrade your lovely boat to accept more challenging quests.

After some time, consider whether your employer is a good person. The gathered information reveals a disturbing plot providing genuine shivers down your spine. Plus, even the seemingly cheerful setting hints that the single-player title is, in fact, a Lovecraftian horror game. Mutated fish, hideous aberrations around every corner, loneliness, and strange people - all this and more await you in that addictive and spooky gameplay.
