Explore diverse civilizations

Play as the British and have a stellar economy or play as the French and easily ally with Native Americans. Choose to play as the Spanish and have more support from the mother country back in Europe. Each civilization has different sets of units, abilities, benefits, and drawbacks. For example, the British Empire has a strong cavalry and economy, especially in the late game. 

On the other hand, their villagers gather woods rather slowly, thus the development of the nation is going to take longer than in case of other civilizations. Then, there is Spanish civilization. It is the strongest in the context of naval power and development. However, their infantry and late game units are relatively weak. You have to utilize your advantages and remember about weakness if you want to prevail.
