Hearts of Iron IV: By Blood Alone is the seventh expansion pack to a grand strategy game developed by Paradox Development Studio. In the game, players have an opportunity to take part in World War II and step into the role of the general commanding armies on a huge strategic map, fighting for domination against other nations.

Discover new gameplay mechanics

By Blood Alone DLC is not a standalone DLC and it doesn't change the main gameplay elements of the base Hearts of Iron game. However, it introduces numerous changes and new mechanics that will provide plenty of new options and possibilities. Additionally, developers implemented many smaller and bigger changes that will improve the gameplay experience. The expansion's story focuses on Italy, Switzerland, and Ethiopia allowing players to play through completely new alternative versions of history.

A multitude of new units

The game has been enriched with more than 20 unique units, exclusive for Italy, Ethiopia, and Switzerland. Additionally, the add-on introduces the Plane Designer allowing players to create their aircraft, such as fighters, bombers, and many more - there are nearly 70 new types of planes. To make things more interesting, the DLC introduces numerous new diplomacy mechanics, providing many new possibilities.
