I dove into Hell is Us expecting the usual quest markers to lead me by the nose, but nope—just pure, unfiltered exploration. At first, I felt like a lost puppy wandering a war-torn maze, but after a while, it clicked. Every discovery felt like a small victory because I actually had to work for it. It was like playing hide-and-seek with the game itself. Sure, sometimes I ended up where I didn’t want to be, but I learned the terrain and embraced that ā€œahaā€ moment. Great for players who enjoy the thrill of the unknown, though maybe frustrating if you love clear directions. Who needs a GPS when you’ve got guts?

I kept my headphones on way too long while playing because the sound design in Hell is Us is something else. The creaks, distant gunfire, and eerie soundtrack wrapped around me like a cold blanket I couldn't shake off. The game’s atmosphere felt like stepping into a shadowed nightmare that stays with you even when you pause it. Playing at night? Forget about it—I jumped at every little noise, but in the best way possible. It’s a sensory experience that deserves all the praise and then some.

Welcome to Hell is Us if you enjoy games that force you to think and explore every corner without holding your hand. I've been in this gloomy realm only for just few hours, gradually discovering its mysteries. I had to really pay attention to my surroundings because there was no map, which is uncommon in recent games. Although fighting was difficult and occasionally tense, it felt tremendously satisfying to land a perfect strike felt incredibly rewarding. This game isn’t just about fighting; it’s about surviving a story. Took me a little while to get used to the sharp difficulty curve, but wasn’t that the point? Highly recommend if you want something different and deep
