Whether you are a veteran of all things Nintendo, or a newcomer to this incredible branch of gaming, the Nintendo Switch Online membership will make your experience even better than it was already going to be. Not only does it expand existing options, it also provides hard to ignore, attractive benefits.

All the benefits you get with an NSO subscription:

Online multiplayer access: If you want to challenge your online friends to a few round of Mario Kart Deluxe or Splatoon 3, you will need the Nintendo Switch Online membership to do so. You can play local multiplayer without it, but when your friends live far away or can’t come over, NSO’s online multiplayer is the best option.

Classic games: Nintendo has spent decades as one of the world’s greatest digital entertainment providers, and generations have grown up playing its hits on several generation of consoles. If you want to relive your childhood memories, or see what old games were like, with the NSO membership you have easy access to dozens and dozens of amazing games from five different Nintendo consoles.

Five legendary platforms on your Nintendo Switch. All you need to enjoy games which shaped their genres is the subscription and a Switch, no more tangled cables and connecting old hardware to modern TVs.

    • NES titles include the original The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Bros, and Double Dragon among dozens more.
    • SNES emulation brings classics such as Harvest Moon, Earthbound, and Star Fox, and that just the tip of the iceberg.
    • Game Boy fans can go back to Metroid II or Legend of Zelda Oracles of Seasons/Ages, or join many different adventures of Mario or Kirby.
    • Nintendo 64 collection features, among others, legends such as Banjo Kazooie, GoldenEye 007, or masterpieces such as Ocarina of Time or Super Mario 64.
    • Game Boy Advance library stars games like Fire Emblem, Golden Sun, and Yoshi’s Island, with a few more welcome inclusions.

Cloud saves: Don’t worry about preserving your saves, with NSO they will be safely uploaded into cloud, ready to be reclaimed at a later time, just the way you remember them.

Access to NSO App functions: When you are an NSO subscriber, you can use the app to view your friend list, access voice-chat, or even access special features in games you play, such as Animal Crossing’s NookLink.

Exclusive offers: as an extra treat, NSO members also receive dedicated deals and offers, letting them buy select games significantly cheaper.

    NSO Expansion Pack

If you’re in a mood for having your membership upgraded even further, you could opt for the Expansion Pack, which brings its own selection of benefits such access to multiplayer modes in the emulated Nintendo 64 and GBA games, or complimentary access to certain DLC non-Expansion Pack users need to purchase separately.

If that’s not enough, how about playing some good, old-fashioned Sonic on your Switch? That’s right, an NSO Expansion Pack combo also grants access to a library of games from SEGA Genesis!

    NSO Subscription plans

The NSO membership comes into two variants: base Nintendo Switch Online, and its slightly more expensive counterpart featuring the Expansion Pack.

Depending on what your gaming plans, you can subscribe for the entire year right away, or settle for 1-month or 3-months options. It will give you precise control over your membership and will prevent you from paying for months when you don’t use any of the benefits, but the per-month cost of subscription increases. If you’re in the US, for example, the price of a 1 month membership is $3.99, but the $19.99 cost of a 12 month one means a monthly cost is just $1.67.

The cost increases with the Expansion Pack. It costs $49.99 for 12 months, with no option to get more granular. However, it’s still only slightly more expensive, than paying for the 1 month membership every month for a year.

There are also Family Plan variants for both, allowing up to eight people to benefit from the subscriptions, and excellent option for large household and friend groups.

Of course, these are the official prices. If you’re interested in saving money while still reaping the benefits, take a look at our digital offers, you will surely find their cost more attractive.

    NSO Membership activation

If you decide to go directly through Nintendo eShop, your membership will activate immediately after you purchase the subscription the variant you want.

If you decide to buy one the deals we have on offer, you will receive a unique key which you will need to redeem it via the Enter Code option in the Nintendo eShop. Once you correctly type in or paste your activation code and press “OK”, your membership will be active, and you will have access to all the corresponding benefits.
