JavaScript - Working with the Document Object Model and jQuery Plugins will introduce you to the concept of the Document Object Model and how you can add greater functionality to your web pages using jQuery plugins. When a web page is loaded, the browser creates a Document Object Model (DOM) of the page.

The HTML DOM model is constructed as a tree of objects and JavaScript can interact with elements in the DOM to add much greater functionality and interactivity to web pages.
