FINAL FANTASY XVI

Final Fantasy XVI is the sixteenth main instalment of the Final Fantasy franchise. This critically acclaimed action role-playing game was developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 5 consoles in 2023.

Welcome to Valisthea

The setting of the game is the twin continents of Valisthea - Ash and Storm. This beautiful area is divided between six nations with each one holding its Eikon - a mythological being with unique power, hosted by people called Dominants. Valisthea is consumed by the growing conflict between the nations, with a mysterious force driving them into the war. The main protagonist, Clive Rosfield, Dominant of the Phoenix, can hold the power of multiple Eikons - join him and his party in a quest to find and destroy the source of Valisthea’s affliction.

Final Fantasy XVI is a single-player action role-playing game with open world elements, set in a world paying homage to the dark fantasy traditions. Travel to the various areas of Valisthea both on foot and via Chocobo, use the Eikons’ power to win fights against powerful opponents and explore the world while completing multiple main and side quests.

Join the fight

The game can be played in two difficulty modes - the easier one designed with the players that like to focus on the story in mind, and the normal one - with new options available in the New Game+, including the hard Final Fantasy mode for a real challenge.

Play as Clive Rosfield and test your skills in many challenging combats - use your melee and ranged weapons as well as Eikons’ unique abilities. Clive can be accompanied by his party members (controlled by the AI), dodge, evade and chain powerful attacks, and direct his canine friend, Torgal, to help him out during the combat. It’s worth mentioning that the battle system was designed by Capcom’s veteran designer, Ryota Suzuki, and is one of the most unique for the franchise as well as one of Final Fantasy XVI’s strongest and most enjoyable elements, praised by players and reviewers alike.

That’s not all though - Final Fantasy XVI is a story-rich, complex video game with multiple main and side goals for the player to achieve.
