Age of Wonders IV is a turn-based strategy video game developed by Triumph Studios and released by Paradox Interactive in 2023. As in the previous titles of this successful series, the action takes place in a fantasy world inhabited by various ethnicities. The gameplay focuses on endless wars between playable factions. And the player's role is to lead the chosen nation by recruiting units, developing cities, and obtaining resources.
Story
The Wizard Kings return to the magical lands to lead mortals as mighty gods. As a powerful mage, you must learn how to rule your prosperous nation and establish the ultimate army to fight for a brighter future.
Gameplay
AoW 4 is a 4X strategy video game focusing on building a mighty empire in exceptionally turbulent times. Start by creating your dream race, adjusting its features down to the tiniest detail. And then see the magic happen! Decide what kind of ruler you want to be, explore faraway lands, gather resources, and expand your cities. The more you know, the better! Therefore, learn new tactical powers and give them to your people to defeat all enemy armies and beasts standing in your way to ultimate victory.
In this unusual world, the environment will react to your every action. Influence the appearance of your eternal kingdom, transform reality, discover new development opportunities, and see how the whole empire grows. You will have to control many crucial factors like the army morale and the changing climate. Even a single spell can change the course of history. In Age of Wonders 4, everything is possible! And the infinite number of potential variations in gameplay design ensures high replayability for countless hours of great fun - solo or in exciting PvP!
