Hello, you're a young boy living with your parents in a small house, located in the suburbia of a large city. Your life cannot be more stereotypical than that. Every day is the same. You would give everything for some action and soon you find much more of it than you ever wished for. A new neighbor just comes to your little society. You found out though that he behaves weirdly. One day, you were playing near the house of the neighbor when you heard the commotion. You decided to check what happened. Unfortunately, your neighbor is not too happy with the fact, that you decided to break into his house. Now you have to avoid him at all costs. At the same time, you are curious what exactly is your neighbor hiding.
The main strength of the Hello Neighbor is the gameplay itself. It is a stealth game where your task is to avoid the neighbor and at the same time, find secrets hidden in his house. It sounds easier than it really is. Your neighbor has a procedural AI. What does it mean? Simply, he is capable of learning. He is going to notice your style and adapt to it. For example, if you constantly avoided him by hiding in a single room, then he is going to realize that and sooner or later you will not be able to hide in the same spot. You have to constantly modify your tactics and adapt in order to be one step ahead of your enemy. If you like to constantly get through windows, sooner or later the neighbor is going to put bear traps under them. You rather do not want to fall into such trap.
