This long-awaited entry of the amazing Heroes of Might & Magic franchise is said to mix the traditional gameplay elements of the series with brand-new RPG mechanics, making it a perfect choice for the veterans of HoMM and players new to the franchise alike.
Gameplay-wise, the Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era video game includes classic turn-based strategy elements such as extensive map exploration, tactical resource management, continuous army and town development (with six town types available), and fantastic combat sequences set on a traditional hexagonal battlefield with an orthographic camera view. The game features new combat mechanics though, with active abilities available for creatures and heroes, as well as revamped artificial intelligence and multiple difficulty levels allowing all players to enjoy the familiar yet unique and challenging HoMM experience.
Single- and multiplayer modes
Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era can be played in single-player and various multiplayer modes available online. Its single-player campaign is a non-linear experience revolving around Jadame’s history and facing the Hive, a swarm of insectoids corrupted by an Inferno demon lord. But that’s not all solo players can experience - an unlimited number of randomly generated scenarios are waiting for them to try out as well, just like multiple single maps of various difficulty levels!
The game features 3 main multiplayer game modes - with online PvP and online co-op available - including classic mode, one-hero mode, and arena. All modes have their own, separate matchmakings, ratings, and leaderboards. HoMM:OE players can also enjoy creating and sharing their own scenarios with a complex in-game editor.
