Gameplay

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse combines exploration, platforming and fast-paced combat. Rose's whip is useful not only against enemies but also for moving through the environment, allowing her to swing across areas and quickly reposition during battles. Players can discover weapons from seven categories and combine them with Relics that provide different offensive and defensive effects.

Major bosses introduce another layer to character progression. Defeated enemies such as Death, Medusa and Carmilla can be sealed into Rose's tarot cards and transformed into Arcana. These powers provide spells and special actions that expand Rose's combat and exploration abilities as the adventure progresses.

Story

The story takes place in Paris in 1499, 23 years after Trevor Belmont defeated Dracula. When monstrous creatures emerge and the city is consumed by chaos, Trevor travels into Paris together with his daughter Rose. Armed with the Vampire Killer, they begin hunting the creatures appearing from the mysterious castle looming over the city.

Rose soon becomes involved in a conspiracy hidden beneath the disaster. Carrying Dracula's curse in her right arm, the young vampire hunter must confront the forces threatening Paris while discovering the truth behind the events surrounding her family.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse presents the series' Gothic style through detailed 2D environments, dramatic architecture and supernatural enemy designs. Burning medieval streets, dark castle interiors and atmospheric stages combine familiar elements of classic Castlevania with a more refined visual presentation.
