Storyline

The story in Diablo II: Resurrected remains the same as in the original. The action of the game takes place in a fantasy world known as the Sanctuary. It appears that the Lord of Terror, titular Diablo has not been defeated as everyone thought. Instead, he managed to take control over Prince Aidan. Now, Diablo is gathering new, diabolical forces and aims to free his brothers - Mephisto and Baal, to ultimately enslave the whole of humanity. The player's role is to put an end to Diablo's plans and defeat him once and for all.

Gameplay and mechanics

When starting a new game, players have to choose a class for their character. The game features seven playable classes: Barbaria, Paladin, Amazon, Necromancer, Sorceress, Druid, and Assassin. Every single one of the playable characters is unique and offers a completely different experience. Each of them features different skills, abilities, and playstyles.

During the gameplay, players will spend most of their time killing seemingly infinite hordes of monsters straight from the depths of Hell. As it befits any RPG video game, the player's character will be able to level up and learn new, more powerful skills and abilities. During the adventure, players will visit a number of different locations.

It is worth mentioning that these locations are procedurally generated and will differ a bit with every playthrough, offering a different, surprising experience. Besides single-player gameplay, Diablo II: Resurrected features up to 8 players online game mode, where players can cooperate to defeat the forces of evil.
