Hell Is Us launches on September 4, 2025, and it’s shaping up to be something different. It’s a third–person action adventure with horror elements, developed by Rogue Factor and published by NACON SA. Available on PS5 and PC via Steam. Pre-orders include cosmetic gear for Remi and his drone, KAPI. The tone is bleak, with a central theme that suggests humanity itself might be the real threat.
Gameplay
You’ll play in third-person, navigating a semi-open world where melee combat and exploration are the focus. There’s no map, no compass, and no mission markers. You move by instinct, not by waypoint. The goal is to make each discovery feel personal and earned. It’s single-player only. PS5 users get DualSense feedback and Remote Play support.

Combat and Exploration
Forget modern guns. They won’t do you any good here. The enemies in Hell Is Us are supernatural and completely resistant to bullets. You’ll be using melee weapons swords, spears, axes, all built specifically to handle these things. It’s close-quarters, no-nonsense combat where timing matters. Button-mashing gets you nowhere.
Every weapon feels deliberate. You’ll need to learn enemy patterns and strike with purpose. Your drone, KAPI, backs you up in fights with support functions that can turn the tide when things get rough. Combat isn’t chaotic, it’s sharp and punishing.
Exploration is just as hands-off. No mini-map, no compass, no quest icons. You’re in a country devastated by war and a strange cataclysm. It’s unpredictable and tense. One minute you’re walking through ruins, the next you’re surrounded by something you didn’t see coming. There’s no guidebook, just instinct and attention.

Story
You play as Remi, heading back to a country shattered by civil war and a strange disaster. As he digs into what really happened, he ends up facing some hard truths about his past. According to creative director Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, the core idea is this: “If war is the closest thing to hell, it's because the worst demons live on Earth: humans.”
Content Warnings & Age Restrictions
Hell Is Us is rated for mature audiences. Expect strong violence, blood, coarse language, and suggestive themes. On PS5, age verification is required to access content.
