Payday 2 is a co-op first-person shooter game in which the players control a gang of robbers carrying out elaborate heists in various locations. Pulling off the Heist

The core gameplay mechanics of Payday 2 focus on carrying out a series of heists. The player can carry them out solo, with the rest of the crew controlled by the AI, or with other players. PD 2 features four difficulty levels, each of the madding to the challenge of successful robbery.

The game rewards each successful heist with experience points, with which the player can expand various skill trees. The money made during the job can be spent on buying new equipment: weapons, disguises, etc.

Payday 2 Legacy Collection emphasizes the stealthy approach to carrying out the heists. Pulling the robbery off without alerting the security, causing the bystanders to call the police, and avoiding the cameras, yields better mission rewards.

Payday 2 does not feature a story mode. Instead, each mission follows the story of the heist the Payday crew is pulling, sometimes interspersed through several missions. The overarching plot follows the crew operating in D.C., pulling intricate jobs given to them by their handler, Bain.
