The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt | Remastered (PC) - GOG.COM Key - EUROPE

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an open-world action RPG developed by CD Projekt Red, released on May 19, 2015. It is the third mainline installment in The Witcher series, based on the novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, and follows monster hunter Geralt of Rivia as he searches for his adopted daughter Ciri across a war-torn continent.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered is an enhanced version of the base game, announced by CD Projekt Red at gamescom Opening Night Live in August 2026. It launches on September 29, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, alongside new native versions for Nintendo Switch 2 and Battle.net, and includes both previously released expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, at no extra cost.

Yes, CD Projekt Red has confirmed Remastered is a free upgrade for anyone who already owns The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S. Nintendo Switch 2 access is also expected to be free for existing Switch owners, though the exact eligibility criteria on that platform may vary, so it is worth checking the official statments closer to launch.

Yes. As of the gamescom Opening Night Live announcement in August 2026, CD Projekt Red confirmed that both expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, are free for everyone who already owns the base game, and this went into effect immediately rather than waiting for the September 29 Remastered launch. Digital owners on most storefronts have the expansions added to their library automatically, while disc-based console owners can claim them from their platform's store; exact rollout steps can vary slightly by platform, so checking the relevant storefront is recommended.

Remastered brings upgraded visuals and performance, enhanced combat, improved traversal and movement, new Witcher Sign effects, revamped mount handling, smarter monster behaviors, a reworked skill tree, transmogrification for gear appearance, an expanded photo mode, and new finishing moves, on top of the existing Next-Gen improvements. These upgrades apply to the base game as well as both included expansions.

Yes, a native Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered version is launching on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 29, 2026, the same day as the PC and current-gen console release, marking the game's first appearance on Nintendo's newer hardware.

Songs of the Past is a new full expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, developed in partnership with Fool's Theory, a studio staffed by veteran Witcher 3 developers. Unlike Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, it is a paid expansion, set in a new region called Letten, and is planned for release in 2027 as a narrative bridge toward the upcoming Witcher 4.

The Complete Edition bundles the full main story with both major expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, along with all additional free content released since launch, including alternate character looks, Gwent card packs, and every subsequent patch and quality-of-life update.

Widely reported completion times put the main story at roughly 50 hours, extending to well over 100 hours with major side quests and the two expansions included. Players aiming for full completion, including all secondary content and collectibles, commonly report totals above 170 hours.

Following updated minimum requirements tied to ongoing support for the Next-Gen update and Songs of the Past, CD Projekt Red now lists an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or Intel Core i5-8400 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT with 6GB VRAM, 12GB of system RAM, 70GB of SSD storage, and Windows 11 as the minimum requirements. Owners of older hardware may still be able to run earlier game versions, but new updates are being built around these specifications.

No, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is designed as a self-contained story with an in-game glossary and character journal that explain key lore and past events. Playing The Witcher 1 and The Witcher 2 can add extra context and deepen certain character relationships, but it is not required to understand or enjoy the story.

No, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a single-player-only experience with no multiplayer, co-op, or competitive modes on any platform.

Mods built for the original pre-Next-Gen version of The Witcher 3 generally do not work with the Next-Gen update without modification, since the underlying game files changed with patch 4.0. Remastered is set to add cross-platform mod support, but a similar wave of compatibility updates from mod authors is still expected once it launches in September 2026.
