In this unique title, you will travel to the magical world of Japanese myths and beliefs to alter your life by leading the actions of young Sakuna. It is an engaging story about battle, destiny, and honor, arranged in an inspiring setting of Japanese folklore.
Story
Meet Sakuna - a spoiled harvest goddess and dear daughter of significant deities. To teach her a valuable lesson, angry gods send her to the island of Hinoe, where the heroine has to survive and help ordinary mortals build a piece of civilization. But this project will require a lot of effort, and the island is full of dangerous demons.
Gameplay
In Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, you will direct the actions of a young goddess exiled to a dangerous island. From the very beginning, you can engage in various creative activities. Explore the island and discover its farthest corners by overcoming challenging obstacles. Fight demons to collect valuable treasures or resources. Your weapons will be farming tools and a magic scarf with which you can capture your opponents. Fighting will also be part of many quests, the completion of which guarantees further character development. So you can expect fast-paced action and epic battles against powerful bosses.
Planting rice is the essential core of the game. It is a complex process that covers all crop growth stages. Rice will be the reliable source of your strength and value in the eyes of the pantheon of angry gods. And each successful rice crop will raise your combat strength and provide you with new farming skills. You can also make some cash by trading it with the capital. A vital gameplay feature is relations with other characters who can help develop your settlement. The more valuable resources you get on journeys, the more they will produce the necessary tools or weapons. By spending time together, you will discover their extraordinary stories, learn to work, and appreciate the value of friendship - even in the face of mortal danger.
