Switching to Leon turns Requiem into a different beast, handing you a shotgun and asking you to redecorate rooms with enemy parts. His sections ooze that RE4 energy: crowd control, smart positioning, crisp headshots, and clutch stuns, including a great crumbling‑street set piece that feels like directing your own action movie. At times I felt almost too powerful—after barely surviving as Grace, jumping back to Leon is like switching from a horror film to an MCU crossover. It’s still a blast, just a different flavor: less “I’m going to die” and more “they’re going to die,” perfect if you play Resident Evil for stylish head‑popping and chaotic crowd management.

Stepping into a ruined street at dusk, the light on wet cobblestones, misty alleys, and deep shadows made me want to screenshot it—right before something growled behind me. Requiem’s theatrical lighting turns every dark corner into a threat, and the tight, tense combat keeps you constantly juggling ammo, positioning, and split‑second fight‑or‑flight decisions.

I went into Resident Evil Requiem thinking I was a hardened horror veteran who’d seen everything since the Spencer Mansion days. Then Grace showed up, and suddenly I was crawling through dark hallways wishing I had a night‑light and a change of pants. Her sections take that classic survival‑horror vulnerability and crank it up: no big guns, no roundhouse kicks, just you, some creaking floorboards, and something breathing way too close behind you. One moment that stuck with me was hiding in a wardrobe, hearing slow footsteps, and realizing the game was actually tracking the sound of my panicked movement. I stayed so still I think I forgot to breathe in real life. It felt like playing RE7 again for the first time, but with more confidence in the level design and tension. If you love feeling genuinely hunted and solving problems with your brain instead of your shotgun, Grace’s campaign is worth the price of admission alone
