Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is an action-adventure video game, developed by Edios Montreal, and released by Square Enix in October 2021. The game is based on the comic book series created by Marvel Comics. In the game, players take on the role of Peter 'Star Lord' Quill, who together with his friends is a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, a group of outcasts from different corners of the universe doing whatever they can to protect those who need help (for the right price of course). It is worth mentioning that Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy video game features high-quality, colorful graphics. In addition to that, the soundtrack accompanying players during the adventure will surely satisfy every fan of the iconic music of the 80s. The game was very warmly received by many players who claim that it offers a well-written story, full of charismatic characters, and interesting gameplay mechanics. 

Story Background

During one of seemingly simple mission, the Guardians accidentally set in motion a series of events that endanger the whole galaxy. Now the Star Lord, Drax, Gamora, Rocket, and Groot must face the results of their actions and stand against the powerful enemy that can destroy everything that they care about.

Gameplay and mechanics

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is an action-adventure game, offering a single-player, story-focused experience. During the gameplay, players observe the action from the third-person perspective. While taking the role of the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Lord, players will spend most of their time fighting with various dangerous enemies, solving environmental puzzles, and exploring a number of different planets.

Developers decided to reward players' curiosity while playing the game - by exploration, we can discover many secrets scattered across levels, including hidden areas, collectible items, and logs containing information about the game's world. In addition to that, players can discover alternative skins for each of the Guardians hidden somewhere on almost any level.

Spectacular encounters with various enemies are the main element of the game. Combat is fast-paced, entertaining, and satisfying. Even though we can control only Star Lord, during fights we can give commands to every hero in the team, creating powerful combo attacks. Every Guardian features several different skills that players can unlock as the story progress. Using the right special ability against certain types of enemies is crucial in every encounter.
