Darksiders Warmastered Edition is a refreshed version of the action RPG from 2010, developed by Vigil Games and released by THQ Nordic in 2016. The title features the captivating plot of the original game but in a graphically improved setting and higher resolution. It is a perfect recommendation for all enthusiasts of hack and slash adventures with biblical characters and an apocalyptic storyline.
Story
The first day of the end of humanity has come. Heaven and Hell confront on Earth, where the hideous beasts wreak havoc and destruction. One of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse also arrives - War. But something is wrong, and it seems that the end should come much later. Entangled in a complex plot, the protagonist is doomed to wander the destroyed Earth, where he will take revenge on his enemies and discover those guilty for this colossal mistake.
Gameplay
Darksiders Remastered Version is a biblical adventure presented in a third-person perspective. The player's task is to direct the actions of War - the exiled horseman of the apocalypse. Reaching Earth, the protagonist becomes part of the world after the last battle to forge risky alliances and fight vengeful angels. Many powerful hell bosses must die to unravel the following chapters of the story.
The gameplay focuses on exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat. Armed with powerful melee weapons and a mount, War travels through a ravaged world to reveal its secrets. Although the puzzle segments require a bit of patience and focus, the combat is devastatingly fast and brutal. The entire gameplay takes place in an impressive setting full of gigantic ruins and monsters, which makes an unforgettable impression. To make the experience even more unique, enjoy the monumental soundtrack created by Cris Velasco, one of the music composers for God of War.
