If you will be able to build a real railway empire, then you will become one of the most powerful people in this young, yet blossoming country. Your opponents are not sleeping though. They're going to use every single opportunity to put you down. Business is hard and brutal, but as the next J.P. Morgan you will be able to handle this.

The Railway Empire is an economical strategy, which requires from you constant vigilance and control over your own business and budget. Don't worry though, young businessmen. You may be guided through the tutorial by Thomas Clark Durant, one of the head honchos of the Union Pacific. His experience is going to help you at the beginning of your adventure. Sooner or later though, you will be going to make your own decisions. You will be able to prepare logistics during the Civil War or build bridges over Mississippi River. It is you, who can turn the United States into a powerful country.
