Halo: Campaign Evolved is a Halo Studios first-person shooter remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, published by Xbox Game Studios, rebuilding Master Chief’s original sci-fi campaign with modern visuals, refined combat, co-op, and new missions.
Halo: Campaign Evolved brings the classic Halo campaign into a modern first-person shooter format while keeping the core feel of the original adventure. Players fight through redesigned missions as Master Chief, using human and Covenant weapons, grenades, vehicles, and tactical movement to survive large-scale battles across Alpha Halo.
The remake adds refined controls, enhanced mobility, new weapons, vehicle upgrades, and more flexible combat options. Players can hijack enemy vehicles, drive a Wraith tank, ride with a full four-player fireteam in a Warthog, and return to missions in Campaign Remix mode for randomized enemies, weapons, effects, and Skull modifiers.
The story follows Master Chief and Cortana after they crash land on a mysterious ringworld known as Halo. As Covenant forces hunt the surviving humans, Master Chief must protect his allies, uncover the truth behind the ancient installation, and face a threat capable of destroying all life in the galaxy.
Halo: Campaign Evolved also expands the narrative with Operation: METEORITE, a three-mission prequel set one year before Halo: Combat Evolved. This new story features Master Chief and Sergeant Avery Johnson infiltrating a Covenant ship in search of critical intelligence connected to High Charity.
Halo: Campaign Evolved rebuilds the original campaign with high-definition visuals, enhanced cinematics, new motion-capture animations, and updated environmental detail. The game preserves the sci-fi military atmosphere of Halo while giving its ringworld landscapes, alien structures, battlefields, weapons, and vehicles a sharper modern presentation.
The visual style combines large-scale space-opera scenery with the iconic look of Master Chief, the Covenant, UNSC technology, and the mysterious Forerunner world at the heart of the campaign.
