Helldivers 2 is a cooperative third-person shooter game created by Arrowhead Game Studios and released by Sony. Players can form teams of up to four people in order to fight robotic and insectoid enemies on several planets, with a variety of weaponry and robust cosmetic customization. Helldivers 2 doesn’t take itself too seriously – it has a strong satirical tone, and takes inspiration from the 1997 movie adaptation of Starship Troopers.

Boosters are available through Warbonds, and are unlocked by spending a special currency called Warbond Medals, which you can acquire on the battlefields, or by completing missions as well as personal and major orders.

The default keybinds for emotes in Helldivers 2 are as follows:
• On a keyboard: the ‘B’ key
• On a DualSense controller: hold Left on the D-pad

Helldivers 2 is mostly oriented toward co-op multiplayer of up to 4 players.

Helldivers 2 doesn’t have a dedicated singleplayer mode, nor does it have a solo campaign. If you want to play solo, you will need to change matchmaking to “Friends Only” and avoid inviting anybody. Do note, however, that the game doesn’t scale difficulty to the number of active players, so you will be facing the full power of the enemy forces on your own.

Helldivers 2 launched on February 8, 2024 for PC and PlayStation 5.
