Langrisser 1 and 2 is a compilation consisting of renewed editions of the first two releases of jRPG, turn-based strategies, first introduced in 1991. Remakes have been developed by Chara-ani Corporation. 

Langrisser I Storyline

Many years ago, a legendary sword known as Langrisser, has provoked a terrible war. According to ancient legends, a person who wields Langrisser will be granted with unlimited power. The war has taken many lives from both sides of the conflict. Blood of people who sought the power and those who swore to protect it was spilled.

The royal family of Baldea protected the secret of the sword for many generations. Unfortunately, Kaiser Digos, the leader of the Dalsis Empire, driven by the desire to rule the entire world, has called the Baldea family to action once again. Prince of Baldea, Ledin, by a hair, managed to survive the invasion is now looking for an opportunity to avenge his father who has been killed by Kaiser Digos. Now he must reclaim the powerful artifact so fiercely protected by his family. The journey Ledin is about to begin will be an ultimate test of his allegiance to the Light. 

Langrisser II Storyline

The centuries have passed since the War of the Sacred Sword. Now, the continent is bothered by vicious plagues. Random battles destroy town after town, leaving nothing but ashes. The only thing remaining after the great Kingdom of Baldea is stories, and the Sacred Sword, Langrisser, is nothing but a myth.

Elwin is a young adventurer, traveling through the kingdom together with his newfound friend Hein, an aspiring mage he met during one of his travels. One day, wearied travelers decided to spend the night in Hein’s hometown, a small village called Salrath. A peaceful night was interrupted by Hein himself, when he runs into Elwin’s room in the middle of the night, disturbingly pale. He said that the Royalguard Empire for unknown reasons is looking for a young girl Liana, who lives on the outskirts of the village. Driven by curiosity and the sense of righteousness Elwin begins his quest to save the girl in distress.

Engaging gameplay mechanics

Langrisser I & II games are divided into chapters during which the player will learn the story and encounter with challenging enemies during battles. In each chapter, the player will have to accomplish a specific goal prepared by the developers such as rescuing a key character, defeat all enemies or eliminate the enemy leader. The battles in Langrisser 1 and 2 are turn-based. During encounters, the player takes the role of a commander leading an army. Military units available in the game may vary, depending on the commander’s class. Our armies can be composed of infantry, cavalry and special air and water units. Each of them has its pros and cons. With progress, the player will unlock access to more powerful abilities and special items, significantly increasing combat potential. It is worth to mention, that the death of every character is permanent.
