The Last of Us Story

The world of The Last of Us Part 1 takes you on a journey alongside Joel, a man who survived the end of the world and the collapse of civilisation but lost something in the process. He's a weary and cynical man whose life eventually crosses paths with Ellie, a 14-year-old girl who harbours a secret even she does not know about. Together they will live through many adventures, very few pleasant, and learn to cooperate. Who knows, maybe they can also teach each other something.

Gameplay

The Last of Us Part 1 is a survival game that emphasises a slow-paced and careful approach to encounters with enemies. It's post-apocalypse, the resources are scarce and ammo is a rare commodity. You'll have to scavenge whatever materials you can find and craft makeshift weapons, tools and healing items. Such equipment naturally is not very durable and might brake after a short while, that's why you can never feel overprepared and remember not to waste your resources.

This is also the reason why combat in The Last of Us Part 1 is more stealth oriented. Prolonged gunfights are just not possible. You have to take down enemies with makeshift weapons: knives and arrows. Different enemies require a different approach. Regular zombies are not too difficult to outsmart, but hostile survivors pose a much larger threat. But the worst are the clickers, blind zombies that are very sensitive to sound. One wrong step might be the end of you, so tread carefully.
