Gameplay
Nagash's campaign combines Total War's turn-based empire management with large-scale real-time battles and a strong focus on undead expansion. Captured settlements can be transformed into specialized locations that provide access to different undead forces, while major Necropolises gather Necromantic Energy and become centres for elite recruitment.
Players can develop the Black Pyramid, recover the Books of Nagash and subjugate powerful Mortarchs as they expand across Immortal Empires. On the battlefield, Nagash can combine units from several undead factions with new monsters, cavalry and spectral troops. His own abilities make him both a devastating spellcaster and a dangerous melee combatant, while Gravecall abilities allow additional undead forces to be raised during battle.
Story
Nagash is the architect of necromancy and one of the most powerful figures in Warhammer's history. After discovering the secrets of dark magic and transforming the ancient land of Nehekhara through his terrible rituals, he was repeatedly defeated but never truly destroyed.
Now Nagash has risen once again. With Chaos threatening to consume the world he believes should belong to him, the Supreme Lord of Undeath intends to gather his servants, reclaim his lost power and transform the lands of the living into an eternal realm of the dead. His ultimate ambition is nothing less than ascension to godhood.
Graphics
Total War: WARHAMMER III - Nagash – Lords of the End Times expands the game's dark fantasy presentation with an undead theme built around monumental Necropolises, skeletal armies, spectral warriors and enormous supernatural constructs. Nagash himself stands at the centre of the visual design, surrounded by the sinister architecture and magical effects associated with necromancy and the Black Pyramid.
New battlefield units further broaden the visual variety of the undead armies, ranging from ghostly Spirit Hosts and heavily armoured Drakenhof Templars to winged Morghasts and the colossal scarab-like Khemric Titan.
