We have to admit that the Bohemia Interactive studio knew what to do with the ARMA series. The game is loved by fans of tactical shooters. If you are looking for a game with a very fast-paced action then this is not a game where you are going to find it. ARMA 2 is a multiplayer (online) tactical shooter. Each step needs to be carefully considered. A simple mistake and you are going to get a shot placed right between your eyes. ARMA 2 is a game set in the fictional country known as Chernarus. Here you are going to participate in many battles.

Furthermore, you are going to explore more than 225 square kilometers of a really beautiful landscape. You are going to use more than 80 weapons and more than 120 vehicles. Hence, you are going to need hours just to get a grasp on all the game provides to you. Operation Arrowhead expands the game even more. There is a new playable content for both Single Player and Multi Player campaign. Furthermore, there are three new maps located in the Central Asia.

Furthermore, the DLC also provides you with multiple interesting factions like Takistani Nations or United Nations army. In total you are going to have more than 300 different units, vehicles and weapons. Which is really impressive.

Gameplay and game modes

As it was mentioned before, the gameplay of the ARMA 2 (PC) focuses on the realism of war. For example in this game you are going to find real world ballistics concerned with things such as penetration of various materials by bullets and even round deflection.

For example, if you are going to play as a sniper then you are going to need to take the Coriolis effect into consideration. The game also features a realistic day/night cycle and dynamic weather effects such as wind, rain etc. You need to take all of these things into consideration during real time tactical scenarios, where big armies are going to clash in epic skirmishes.

It should be noted that the simulation of the combat environment is so realistic that it is used by various armies as a training simulator. Just imagine that. A game which is so realistic that it is used by the army. As for the game modes there are a few of them that are definitely worth mentioning.

There are standard modes like Capture the Flag, Deathmatch or King of the Hill.  There are also a few very original and interesting ones like the Hunt (where players are going to fight against a creature), RPG (where your character is going to gain experience and skills). There are many modes and everyone is going to find something for themselves. Enjoy various scenarios.

Plot

Even though the primary focus of the ARMA 2 is multiplayer, the game still has a rather interesting plot. It is year 2009 and you are a member of an elite Razor team. You were send to Chernarus to fight an anti-government faction known as ChDKZ (Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star). Soon you are going to realize, that ChDKZ is a real challenge for your unit. Do you think that you will be able to handle this?
