World of Warcraft is a massively multiplayer online RPG developed and published by Blizzard. It is a spin-off of the Warcraft series of role-playing games. MMORPG Gameplay

WoW follows the common routes of MMORPG gameplay. The player begin their adventure with WoW by creating their character. The player’s in-game avatar can be a representative of either of the two sides of the conflict: the Alliance and the Horde.

Each faction has a number of races available, and within those, even more character classes. The player is then put on the map of the world, where they can begin to complete quests, interacting with other players from the same faction, for example by grouping up against greater challenges.   

Story of Azeroth

Azeroth was once a land of peace and harmony, ruled by the Alliance of humans, elves, dwarves, and other good creatures., However, nothing lasts forever. From the darkest pits of the world came the Horde, a coalition of fell races led by brutal Orcs. The war was inevitable. The Alliance and the Horde clash on the once peaceful fields of Azeroth, fighting to determine the fate of the realm.

Reception

World of Warcraft received nearly universal critical acclaim and is oftentimes considered as a quintessential MMORPG title. The reviewers had noted that while not being too different than other titles of the genre, WoW manages to win over the competition with the amount of polish the developers at Blizzard put into their title. In this title, everything works exactly as it should, from the intuitive gameplay mechanics to excellent graphics, which bring the magical world of Azeroth to life.
