The story of the game takes place in a fictional world where psychic powers are not only a fairytale, and people can actually use them. All that because of the substance known as Psitanium, brought to the world from outer space with several meteors.
In the game, players learn the story of Razputin Aquato, a young telepath who has finally achieved his life goal and become a member of a mysterious organization gathering people with similar, psychic abilities known as the Psychonauts.
Soon he finds out that something is wrong - the group's leader started acting strange after being saved from captivity and seems like a completely different person. To make matters worse, Raz suspects that there is an enemy spy, working from inside their organization. Now, he must do whatever he can to stop the intruder, and put an end to the evil plan prepared by his enemies.
In Psychonauts 2 players will observe the action from the third-person perspective. The game is an arcade platformer, where we have to jump, fight, and use our abilities to complete subsequent stages. The game encourages players to explore the world prepared by the developers, as it is filled with various secrets and collectibles.
Even though the game focuses mainly on arcade aspects, it also features many well-thought environmental and logical puzzles. While controlling Raz, players will be able to use a set of amazing, psychic powers like levitation, telekinesis, or pyrokinesis.
As we progress in the story, we'll unlock new, more powerful abilities. It will not only help us to deal with bizarre enemies but also explore mental worlds inside other peoples' minds. Besides his psychic special abilities, Raz is also an acrobat - he can jump through difficult obstacles, walk the line to reach distant places, and perform spectacular air acrobatics.
